- Elliot E. Maxwell

Elliot E. Maxwell is presently Special Advisor to the Secretary of Commerce for the Digital Economy. He provides advice to the Secretary on, and is responsible for the coordination of, Commerce Department activities regarding issues involving electronic commerce and the Internet. These include, among others, privacy, consumer protection, increasing access to bandwidth, establishing a legal framework for electronic commerce, and the impact of electronic commerce on other aspects of the economy. He has participated in the U.S. Government's Interagency Working Group on Electronic Commerce since its beginning.
Prior to joining the Department of Commerce, he served at the Federal Communications Commission as Deputy Chief of the Office of Plans and Policy, Deputy Chief of the Office of Science and Technology, and Special Assistant to the Chairman. He also previously served as Director of International Technology Policy at the Department of Commerce and as Senior Counsel to the U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence Activities. He worked in the private sector for a number of years as a consultant and as Assistant Vice President for Corporate Strategy of Pacific Telesis Group where he combined business, technology, and public policy planning.
Maxwell graduated from Brown University and Yale University Law School. He has written and spoken widely on issues involving electronic commerce, telecommunications, and technology policy.

Hiroshi has been a guest lecturer for various universities and business organizations. He has contributed numerous articles to a number of Japanese business journals and magazines.
He also co-authored several books in Japan, two of which became a best selling book in the business field.
Hiroshi holds a B.S. and M.S. from the University of Tokyo, as well as an M.S. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Prior to forming PSINet in 1989, Mr. Schrader was founder, president, and chief executive officer of NYSERNet, a corporation that created the first regional Internet network, providing networking services to university, corporate, and government communities in New York State. Earlier, Mr. Schrader was executive director and co-founder of two supercomputer centers, one at Cornell University and one at Syracuse University. While at Cornell, he led the development of the NSFNET Backbone Network to connect the national supercomputer centers, which became the basis for the NSFNET system.
Mr. Schrader earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Cornell University, as well as completing graduate work in business and finance."
