Global Information Summit 2000

Net Conference
In conjunction with the Summit in March, we held the "Global Information Summit - Net Conference" in February. Corporate and academic experts who are shaping public opinion in the network society participated. Answers to the question, "What does Japan need to succeed in the Digital Divide Era?" will be summarized and published in newspapers and on the net.

Structure
The net conference comprises the following three groups :

Decision makers in government and public institutions (both in Japan and overseas), executives of private corporations, and lecturers for the Summit
Academics and corporate experts in the information communications field selected by the Nihon Keizai Shimbun Inc., and members of the Promotion Forum
Net-citizens groups that are in the forefront of the network society
