Online Conference

As part of the Summit, we will be conducting a "Global Information Summit 1999 On-line Conference." The purpose of the conference will be to develop consensus on many of the key issues being faced. Participants will include representatives of corporate members of the "Global Information Summit Promotion Forum," senior policy-makers, scholars, and leading netizens. They will be asked to address the question: "What do Japan and the world need to do to prepare for the network economy?" The opinions expressed by conference participants will be summarized for publication in newspapers and on this web site, and it is hoped that they will raise new issues and perspectives with the government and business communities.

We will begin the On-line Conference in mid-February so as to prepare for the March 12 Summit. The following specific topics will be discussed.
