 Mr. Masanobu Suzuki
President & CEO, NTT Communications Corporation
Masanobu Suzuki assumed his current position with NTT Communications Corporation, the long-distance and global telecommunications arm of Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT) group, in July 1999, when NTT Communications began operation as a result of NTT's reorganization. He has also held a number of other important posts in his 36-year career with NTT.
Mr. Suzuki served as Executive Vice President of NTT and Senior Executive Manager of the NTT Long-Distance and Global Provisional Headquarters from January to June of 1999.
As Executive Vice President of NTT and Senior Executive Manager of the NTT Global Business Headquarters beginning in 1997, Mr. Suzuki dedicated himself to developing the basis of the NTT group's global telecommunications services through NTT's subsidiaries. This was the year NTT was allowed to commence global telecommunications services through its subsidiaries by the revision of the NTT Law.
Mr. Suzuki was promoted to Executive Vice President of NTT, serving as Executive Manager of the Business Communications Department II in 1996.
Mr. Suzuki was named Senior Vice President of NTT and Deputy Senior Executive Manager of the Integrated Communications System Headquarters in 1993.
He served as Executive Manager of the President's Office from 1989, during which time he played an instrumental role in launching the basis of multimedia in Japan.
He joined NTT in 1965.
Mr. Suzuki graduated from Tokyo University in 1965 with a bachelor's degree in economics.
He was born in Ibaraki Prefecture in 1941. He is married and has two sons.
