Mr. Waichi Sekiguchi Editorial Writer, Nikkei Newspaper
Waichi Sekiguchi is a senior staff writer for Nikkei Newspaper, the largesteconomic daily in Asia. He joined Nikkei in 1982 and currently covers the Japanese IT industry and cyberspace issues in Tokyo. Sekiguchi used to be a Washington correspondent during the Bush and first Clinton Administrations, covering US trade and government policies.
Prior to that, he was a research fellow at the Center for International Affairs at Harvard University and a chief writer for Nikkei Weekly, the English edition of the Nikkei newspaper. He has also written books on the Internet and IT industry. Titles include Cyberspace Revolution, The Frontier of Cyberbusiness, Moderntimes 2001, etc.
He graduated from Hitotsubashi University and he presently teaches at Waseda University and Meiji University as a part-time instructor.
